Aussie Optometrist in Chicago

Dr. Dominick Maino and Mr. Craig Butler
Dr. Dominick Maino has an international reputation in the areas of pediatrics, binocular vision, vision information processing disorders, vision therapy and patients with special needs. So it is not surprising that optometrists from around the world seek out his expertise whenever possible. Over the past few years, doctors from Japan, Korea, Mexico, China and other locations have come to work with Dr. Maino at the Illinois College of Optometry and the Illinois Eye Institute.

While presenting research and lecturing at the College of Optometrists in Vision Development meeting in Orlando, FL and at the American Academy of Optometry meeting in Seattle, he had a chance to meet Australian optometrist, Craig Butler.
Presenting Research at the AAO

Craig is a Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and has a strong desire to learn all he can while in the USA. When he asked Dr. Maino if he could come for a Chicago visit, it was easy for him to say yes! While in Chicago, Craig observed Dr. Maino and his patients in the Peds/BV Service and the Developmental Disability Service at the Illinois Eye Institute.

Craig will be returning to Australia shortly where he will use all of what he learned to open a new office dedicated to working with children and adults with functional vision problems.
